OAKS AMUSEMENT PARK
Portland’s Oaks Park is one of the longest running amusement parks in the US. Opened in 1905, to coincide with the Lewis and Clark Exposition, the park was built by the Oregon Water Power and Railway Company to show off the technical marvels of electrical trolleys and lights. Since then, the park has become Portland’s family playground. A free attraction, it’s located on the treelined banks of the Willamette River just south of downtown.
