Because Vancouver’s international airport lies on their traditional and unceded territory, the design team is currently preparing an exhibition that focuses on the culture and territory of xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam). This exhibition will open in the domestic arrivals hall and celebrate the growing partnership in Reconciliation between the Airport and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm. The work is designed in three languages—hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓, French and English—and surrounds a large cedar canoe, carved in commemoration of the relationship.
