This temporary exhibition was designed as an overlay onto existing displays as a cost-effective homage to the Vancouver Olympic Games. Working within the central gallery area of the museum’s heritage building—the former Coroner’s Court of Vancouver—we replaced an older exhibit with stage components, hanging banners, and information panels which integrated artifact display and AV monitors. We worked with the curatorial staff to refine their storyline for display in an economical and interesting way, making the most of large photographs, sports-themed typography and graphics and creating visual hierarchy in the busy environment of the gallery space.
