CANADIAN LACROSSE HALL OF FAME

The Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame sits adjacent to the New Westminster Museum exhibition “Stump City–Royal City” and explores the development and community of the sport in Canada. Volunteer-run on a shoestring budget, the group was moving from a visible storage to a new space with a mandate to communicate the excitement, history and tradition of the game. Our team developed the interpretive strategy and content for a wide audience—many who are unfamiliar with lacrosse.

Client: Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame
Location: New Westminster, BC
Scope: Interpretive planning, curation, content development, exhibition design, graphic design
Architect: PUBLIC
Curator: Roberta Kremer
Filmmaker: Geoff Webb

The space features an expandable Hall of Fame wall and a combination of gorgeous trophies, graphics and bios of notable players.

To capture the beauty and motion of lacrosse, we curated a looping 5-minute film which was plays at life size on one wall. Projected from above on a simple black-painted surface, the motion shifts from slow motion to energetic play and brings the strength, agility and outdoor nature of the game to the small interior gallery.
